What subject matter would you guys like to tackle next? Would you like him to return to any old characters or places from earlier books or to go in a certain direction or genre?

I personally would like to see some sort of connection with The Bad Place within whatever genre he decides as I think the world that was travelled to with the bugs was superbly described and could be used in another story in some sort of context, maybe tied in to The Bad Place itself...

I'd like to see something tied into FTCOHE. Maybe a short novella as to what he does later in life.

A sequel to “Cold Fire” or “By the Light of the Moon” would be good, if not in book form then perhaps as graphic novels – though I fear they’ll be drowned in the tsunami of superhero stories we’ve been drenched in the last few years.

The only serious sequel is the obvious one: Chris Snow 3.

I’d like a break from those straightforward thrillers which often read as if they were written for TV. A return to supernatural elements without them being turned into the resurrection of Jesus’ pet dog or something. Characters which you can grow to love – not the cardboard wannabes of late. Extraordinary situations that go just a little bit further, more edgy.

I don't know; whenever his titles were released, I've always imagined a much more interesting storyline (at least to me) than what the actual plot turned out to be.

Lots of people would like the return of Chris Snow, when that will be is anyone's guess however. Good idea Johnny about By The Light of the Moon, that would be a good sequel!

I agree with another BTLOTM ... and of course, another Chris Snow. Hmmm ... given the hurricane that basically decimated Galveston, TX, perhaps he should take some natural disaster and put some fantastical spin on it like some evil doers figuring out how to create natural disasters while there really is some nefarious plot of alien supernatural voodoo or something ...

I'd refrain from ever using an alien plot again, at least for mainstream stories. It's all right for the die hard sci-fi and occult fans, but my observations of the general public tell me the average person is getting tired of aliens. You'd have to be pretty inventive to give your plot an alien spin which won't invoke the feeling of "been there, done that".

I'd like a Watchers sequel---- although after all those horrid tv movies I doubt he'd even go there!

I think everyone would like to be the director on Watchers the film but to do it properly! Travis and Nora and clever CGI so it really looks like Einstein is making scrabble words not just a dummy paw shoving them around and none of this 'there were 3 experiments' crap. What was that all about?

From what everyone says I'm glad I've never seen any of the Watchers movies. Or maybe I should see them just for a life experience lol.

Nooo Leon! Dont do it to yourself! U will be mentally scarred for life! Well, perhaps not that bad but they are terrible. Actually I have only seen the first one. Stopped while I was ahead. They are practically nothing like the book. Travis is a kid and is nothing at all like the Travis in the book. Nora is the Mum! And there is no sense that the dog is clever really apart from maybe 2 examples that I remember. The glove box and one scrabble episode! Oh and a bit of barking.

Except if you're drunk and want to make a kind of Mystery Science Theater thing out of it.

I wouldn't really want him to go back. He's always said that he wouldn't, except in books designed to appear in a series, and it would be a shame, in my view, for him to do so. I'd like fresh material.

I would, however, like him to return to the darker, grimmer side of writing. I want a return to horror and no more sweet, cutesy, sickly stuff.

I know. I think that the switch that he flipped when he wrote FTCOHE must have got broken somehow, as I don't see any way that it is going to get reversed. I think we're into cutesy stuff until he stops writing, sad as it is to say.

Perhaps we should send him a copy of "Misery"

Woo good plan! I must admit tho I find it hard to believe that he doesnt realise what fans are saying. He must read forums or somethings to point him that way. I would, wouldnt you? Would you google yourself? Has anyone here?

Most writers "have" to write what they feel compelled to write so if the last few non-Odd books are any indication of the future, his #1 status in my book is doomed ...

This writing style now must be the friggin longest mid-life crisis ever! Let's have a book with no dogs at least one time ...

I don't know if he does read forums - it would be easy to become absorbed and sidetracked by what is being written about you on the internet, especially when you are as famous as Koontz. You would also run the risk of becoming demoralized and depressed, as there can be hateful abuse written on many forums. Perhaps not of writers, as such, but other famous personalities, such as film stars or football players. It's OK if you can laugh some of the invective off as the rantings of a deranged few, but...

I have Googled myself before, out of curiosity, and I get a few hits based on the various books reviews that I have written over the years.
